Flexibility...

... a trait that I use to posses, but no longer. I title this post as such because we are (after making certain observations throughout the week) hanging up the potty business for a little bit and will try again later. I will spare details -for your sake and for John Paul's dignity- but I will say that it's been helpful (after a few days of forgetting this detail) to ask GOD His opinion (having created the GI tract and John Paul as well, I figured He would know how the two will work the best). He has helped David and I to be at peace about the right steps to take in this direction. It's our first rodeo, ya know? Thought you might like to know.

I've heard that boys are hardest. Mike thought we could train Drew before the new baby but he won't even be 2 so I told him I don't even care to push it! I'm sure in his own time, he will do fine...he's still young ;) I commend you for giving it a go though, I don't even want to think about those days haha!

POTTY TRAINING STINKS! haha You guys already learned the biggest lesson: must happen in its own time :) Don't stress...there are no kindergarteners in diapers...that's what I always tell myself :)

We are training Isabel now and some days are great...with ease of going potty (pee pee only) and some days she says NO potty...I gonna go in my diaper. Everyone tells me NOT to push her and that it happens differently for each child (when they are ready not you). Try again in a couple of weeks. We had 3 great weeks of potty training and then a MAJOR set back this weekend....oh well! Love ya!

Kate, Elison was about 2-4 months over 3yrs when one day HE decided he was ready to potty. We had tried, like you, to no avail! So like the others said, in his own time! A friend of mine just recently told me that she potty trained her oldest right after the second was born. I'm thinking I might try this with Sylas. The potty training gives them some attention at a time when, well, they aren't getting as much as they used to ;) Treats and lots of praise help (of course when they are ready!!!). Good luck!
