A small observation of the children...

As John Paul (2 yrs and 10 months) and Therese (15 months) seem to be growing in their ability to communicate with one another, it is such a joy (most of the time) to watch their personalities come out in these last days. One event in particular- the coming of the rain- magnified the phenomena of personality and birth order. David and I tried to get John Paul to walk in the rain with an umbrella or even to see that Daddy's dancing ridiculously in the rain was fun and safe. NOPE. He refused to the point of tears at seeing David out their in his clothes getting so wet. So what happened when Therese saw the rain? Here's what I captured.

At first it was just her little hands that reached out the feel the rain coming off the tin roof. Then it was her head.

And that's all it took...

And what was John Paul doing? He was in the back porch where it was dry, playing with his trains, happy to be doing so.

And here are a few other pictures of them.

And just think: if 5 months or so, another personality will join us!!!

I love that she loves the rain! Sometimes I think of, instead of running inside to get out of it, that adults still played in the rain ;) the way kids do...she is precious! I can't get over how much your 2 look alike. wonder who that next one will look like! They are so sweet!

Kate,

I love how joyful and enthusiastic you are about motherhood. It's easy to count down the minutes until you're off duty again and the kids are in bed. You take the time to play with and notice and celebrate the personalities of your kids--I love it :)
